Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park

This Thanksgiving we decided to revisit our 2008 Thanksgiving experience, but this time instead of freezing in our tent, we rented a comfortable and warm cabin and invited some cousins along. This gem of Northern California is the perfect mix of awe-inspiring old-growth redwoods and beachy goodness. A large herd of elk greeted us every morning, the children hiked like champs, and when we returned from digging holes in the beach, our bathtub felt luxuriously decadent.
