Kids on Kauai

Some highlights from our recent Hawaii trip:

  • With the addition of Miles, we now take up an entire airplane row.

  • With the exception of Miles, we all prefer shave snow over shave ice. Miles couldn't seem to decide if he liked either one.

    • At the top of Waimea Canyon, we had a memorial service for the Thomas the Train hat that was unexpectedly carried off by the wind. A gift from grandma, that loyal hat had been with us for longer than the children can remember. We take comfort in the fact that it was laid to rest in one of the most gorgeous places on earth.

    • James won the snorkeling lottery, seeing rays, turtles, eels, and seals. Amy only ever saw fish.

    • The children claimed that the best part of seeing Wailua Falls was when Paul coined the termed "Doofullshnotter" to describe the vandals who had defaced some road signs.

    1 Comments:

    • "Doofullshnotter" is even better than "Dampfschifffahrt," the word that you and Paul thought to be hilarious in Dresden.
