Christmas Proper
James got a late start on opening his presents on Christmas morning. Actually, like any self-respecting, Christmas-loving kid, and to Amy's bleary-eyed dismay, he was awake at 4:30 A.M., but by the time the rest of Amy's family was ready to open presents, he was taking his morning nap. Anyhow, the present featured in these photos is an activity book from Grandma Glauser, full of velcro and buttons and snaps and ties to keep James's little hands busy. Also featured, but a little harder to see, is the perpetual runny nose and rubbed-raw nostrils on the cold-catching boy.

What fun to have a little one with us at Christmas again! They definitely increase the fun quotient to an amazing degree.
Two of the things that amazed me about James - one of them is in relation to the "Tiny Traveler" entry - are:
#1. He has an amazingly long attention span for such a little fellow.
#2. In spite of the perpetual cold with all it's miserable symptoms - the nose, the hoarse voice, coughing, sneezing, feeling a tad feverish at times, (am I beginning to sound like a cold remedy commercial) etc. - James is nevertheless constant in his cheerful, gleeful, curious (you got that one right, Uncle Johnny)and vocal manner.
It was also great to get to spend time with James' parents, I'm pretty sure we've made them feel like James is the main course and they're just leftovers. But it's not true! We love all three of you and can't wait until we can be together again!
Love, Grandma G.
P.S. Did you get any shots of Paul, the aviator?
