COVID-19 Chronicles, Part 13 (Cousin Camping)
Camping with cousins is unbeatable, especially when it includes the best hike in the Bay Area (Mt Tampais to Stinson Beach). Even though several things were not ideal, the trip got rave reviews from all Bankheads. Here is a list of things that didn't put a damper on the adventure:
- We only had one campsite between the two families, so we had to set our tents up right next to each other, literally touching.
- Being in a tribe made the children extra brave (and extra oblivious), so they wandered a little too far from camp and were briefly lost. (Does it count as "lost" if the 7 children were together?)
- The beach was cold and rainy, but that didn't stop the children from completing a serious public works project in the sand.
- We waited for 45 minutes for the bus, only to discover that the bus no longer stops at that particular bus stop, so we had to run a few blocks with cold sandy children to catch the ride back up the mountain.
