China 2009: Beijing
In Beijing, we stayed in the super-fancy Hotel G, ate mysterious and mostly delicious food at super-fancy restaurants, met Princess Ringzinwangmo, bartered for child-sized silk pajamas, toured the Forbidden City, wandered around hutong alleys, learned how to make Chinese dumplings, sang Karaoke (The Bankheads sing an Air Supply duet, anyone?), and had several ridiculously cheap massages (90 minutes, lunch included, $15). Good times.

I'm still sad that you didn't bring me back any silk pajamas.

That is awesome. I must go there someday. Even if just for the massage.

Just read this- I'm so jealous. Some day we will join you in the ranks of people who've been to a cool foreign place where they give massages and lunch all for $15.
