Anniversary Adventure





Traditionally, couples celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary with candy. Modernists have revised the sixth anniversary gift to iron. Bankheads have declared our sixth anniversary the year for an epic backpacking trip to Rae Lakes in Kings Canyon National Park. Here's how we celebrated six years together:
  • 96 hours without children
  • 46 miles of hiking
  • 6943 feet of elevation gain
  • 50 pounds of pack (20 for Amy, 30 for Paul)
  • 107 mosquito bites
  • 3 skinny dips into pristine alpine lakes
  • 2 inadvertently matching outfits
  • 1 awesome and memorable adventure
